Xtra Port 25 Blocking

If you can receive mail from our mail servers but cannot send to them, and you are a Telecom Xtra customer, it is highly likely Telecom is filtering Port 25 (the port mail is normally sent on) to prevent you doing so.

Please follow the instructions as detailed on Telecom's website to have Port Filtering excepted on your Telecom Xtra account:  http://xtra.co.nz/port25

On the Filtering Opt-Out form, following are answers to some technical questions you may be asked:

  • What is your brand of anti-virus software: [Your Software]
  • What is your brand of firewall software:  [Windows Firewall - or other if you use a third party application]
  • Reason for opening Port 25: So I can communicate with the web / mail server our domain is hosted on for sending domain emails
  • Which mail server software do you use: Exim 4.69 (174.120.97.189)
